Intel 802810E onboard graphics and resolution problem

Post by Lord Molder » Mon Jul 31, 2006 6:29 am

I`m running Blood on a Pentium 3 with Intel 802810E onboard graphics on Win XP Service Pack 2 with perfect sound (thanks to VDM). Only problem is i cannot run the game in 800x600 or 1024x768 as the screen goes weird and it looks as though it`s a magnified image.....i can still see the screen but it`s mega "close up" and of course,it`s impossible to play the game this way. I`m pretty happy with it the way it is but at least 800x600 would be nice. Has anyone encountered this before?......Build XP steps have been followed to the letter and i`m using One Unit Whole. Thanks.

EDIT: Actually when i select 1024x768 the screen scrambles altogether... :(

I couldn't find any information on this graphics chipset. Is this a notebook you're having? If so, it would most likely a problem with the TFT and/or VESA. I don't know much about notebooks, maybe there are some drivers needed?

Nah it`s an old Dell desktop. The onboard graphics are VERY limited in what video modes it can run.....it can only do 1024x768 at 75Hz!! and 800x600 at 75Hz!!..... :P and it can only do 3D in 16 bit color.......it`s pretty hopeless when you think about it! but it runs Blood and DarkForces i spose,so i can`t complain too much.

Aw, you may consider upgrading! Anyway, the difference for Blood is not sooo big. With higher resolutions it is a bit sharper in the distance, that's it.

Yeah, I get that same problem with my laptop with intel graphics. I have to leave it in good old DOS 320x200.
