Patch and XP Built compatibility

Does the XP Built solution works even if you apply the final official patch? I followed all the XP Built instructions and then applied the official patch and the game didn't worked. I didn't however ran the game before using the patch (having used already the XP solution already) so I never knew if it was gonna work in the first place.
