Memory error with vdms

after clicking the vdms shortcut i get a out of memory error
"blood needs 13MB of memory you have 11" or something similiar like that...
chrashes after this.
any ideas on how to increase the memory ?
(i did try to increase the vdms EMS memory, but the error is still there)
