Windows 7 Ultimate in XP Mode - How does VDM-Sound etc work?

Hi,

I just ran VDMSound on Windows XP as descripted on the main page here. It worked fine.

In May I buyed a Core i7-System and I used Windows Vista x64 until I switched to Win 7 Ultimate x64 last Saturday. So theres a VM-Solution that is calles "XP Mode" and it works with the Microsoft Virtual PC.

I just installed VDMSound in that "XP Mode" and tried to start Duke3D or SW - but it doesn't work.

Duke3D-Errors:

"Unhandled exception encountered while loading"
"16-Bit-MS-DOS-System - The Display could not initialized for Fullscreen Mode..." (This was in German so I translated it - might be different to the english error message)

Is there any solution yet - or maybe another solution which I can try?

Thanks :)

Not even sure vdmsound runs with 64bit OS's. I'll do some homework tomorrow.

Doesn't vista have a X32 compatibility setting?

I run Windows Seven 64bit and XP Mode with a Windows XP. That XP Mode is also 64bit but the Windows XP installed in the VM is a 32bit System.
