i followed the instructions to the letter, but the game runs very jerkily.

the sounds are staticy (which is fine) and the music doesn't work, but other than that the game works. it's almost impossilbe to play tho.

i'm running a 3 ghz win. xp 1 gb ram, radeon. what could be the problem?

The only thing i can find there thats a similar problem was a bad\no patch.
what kind of sound card do you have?
Try different resolutions.......changing your sound settings etc etc....
