Getting a weird error with Blood

Post by randir14 » Fri Jul 28, 2006 12:05 am

Hi, I had Blood working perfectly by following the XP guide on this site, but today I had to reinstall Windows XP and after following the guide to set up Blood again, i'm getting a strange error. I took a screenshot so you can see it:

If I click Yes a few more errors pop up until the game loads. The game plays fine, but the sound stutters badly. If anyone could help me out i'd appreciate it.

Check your sound drivers.

MAYBE you made a mistake while setting up the game again.
Try playing arround with the IRQ and the mixing rate
(ADlib on the vdm shortcut)

So yeah, just tinker arround with the settings.
But make sure that the IRQ in the actual blood setup and on the vdm shortcut are the same.

Also make sure to edit your config.nt file
c:\windows\system32\
and change
files=20 to files=40

And while we are at it, make sure you sued the cli2nop on blood.exe

Thanks, I got it working now. I'm not sure what I did right, but I ended up installing a different version, then deleting it and going back to the older version I had and now it works fine.
