I take it you have the ipx protocol installed? if not, do that.
Make sure you create a vlp shortcut like you did to blood.exe, but to setup.exe with 'enable low level network support' clicked in the shortcut properties. Start a network game this way on both configured computers on the LAN and you should be set.

both VLP files have the correct stuff in them, including network support.
Commit.dat LAUNCHNAME set to blood.vlp.
Still no go.
multiplayer on blood/duke/sw
Enter network connections in the control panel. right click on the connection u are using on ur network and select properties. find the nwlink ipx/spx protocol. change the internal network number to "00000000". now ur good to go...

multiplayer in XP with Blood
what kind of error/what happens when ur lauching a multiplayer game? does it just quit?
run it from the command prompt(cmd.exe) and see what it says.
anyway here's the list on how to make blood work in xp. Look through it, and check that u have done all of this:
1.install blood
2. install vdmsound 2.10
3. install VDMSound LaunchPad Shell Extension v1.0.1.1
4. go here: http://postmortem.edgegaming.com/?page=mm_files
download this patch:
r0011.exe - Updates Blood (Registered) from 1.00 to 1.11.(install it)
5. get the soundblaster fix patch: http://buildxp.deathmask.net/files/bloodsblivefix.zip(install it)
6. get nolfb.exe, place it in the blood folder
7. get cli2nop, run it.
8.go here: http://postmortem.edgegaming.com/forums ... .php?t=480
do these steps to run blood perfectly in windows xp.
9. the network part:
a)
get commit.exe version 1.4
b)
commit.dat : launchname = blood.EXE
it doesnt have to be blood.vlp. dont worry about this. just make a new vlp file, and make it point to commit.exe. or u can create a new vlp file, and make it point to setup.exe(the first option is the most practial one i think).be sure that this vlp file enables low level network support.
c)
set internal network number to "00000000" - 8 zeros. keep in mind that this number might change upon reboot. i can't tell for sure, but it seems that if not all of the computers are set up with this net. number, network play won't be possible.
if you feel u have done all this, my suggestion is: do it 1 more time. this should work!

works now...
just had to add a vlp file for commit.exe.
I also made entry in commit.dat as "blood.exe" instead of "blood.vlp", but I'm not sure if this made any difference. I don't have another computer to test it with right now, but it's at least waiting for other players.
also, "internal network number" in IPX properties reset itself after reboot, and I'm not even sure it makes a difference; will try setting it to 00000000 if I have problems.
thank you all!
