video mod not working

In step 8 when it tells you to change the video settings to "VESA modes (SVGA/VESA 2.0). Select 640x480." i change them and hit esc to get the save and exit window, press yes (to save) and when i go back in to setup to check if everything is savvy the video changes will not stick they revert back to the original settings. so i tried to start it anyways, and i get a kinda rainbow screen flashing by then it crashes. anyone know how to get the video settings to stick?

I found the solution
make the changes in the config.
open the blood.cfg and change screenmode to:
ScreenMode = 2
ScreenWidth = 800
ScreenHeight = 600
(or 640 x 480)

the funny thing is.......
the whole thing worked perfect for me right from the start but just in 640x480
as soon as i select 800x600 the ground in the game appears grey and is flickering all the time......
this is pretty annoying....... but i think the game just looks and plays fine in 640x

I'm afraid it's a driver/hardware issue then. You might try installing your latest GPU driver and / or installing the winXP fix (if you haven't done so already) but if neither works, you're stuck in 640x480 I'm afraid.
