Sound problems for Blood

Post by Zombie-man1 » Sun Jul 06, 2008 6:18 am

Hi i was hoping someone could help me with my sound problem its wierd ive tried everything ive read on the fourm but found to solution.

baisicly what happens when i try to run the game it loads but then i get an error saying,(src\sound.ccp(516): Playback failed, posibly due to a invalid or conflicting DMA channel.) and thats all it says then it shuts down.

so i think its because my windows 98 computer,(the one im using to run the game) is not 100% sound blaster compatible so, is there any way i can get my sound fx's working if there is please reply with an answer!

oh. ya one more thing the strangest thing is the music works great tho but its just the sound having problems. and ive tried changeing some of the sound options in the setup option but none of them worked, so please try and help me!! anyone please!! :cry:

i once had the same problem like you..... but this had something to do with my Soundcard Drivers back then....... i recommend you to make a fresh new XP install.......

see these "DEATHMASK" hints are made for XP users not w98

but if i were you i would check if some IRQ`s are assigned to something

you can do this in your BIOS....
guess its under PCI options.......

and be sure that you have the sound.cpp file in your blood dir.....
maybe its not there ?

the other idea i had was the BLOOD SOUNDBLASTER LIVE FIX.....
though i dont know if this will help as the game wont even start in your case.......

btw did you changed your CONFIGNT file ?
but same here i dont know if it will help

you can find the file in C:WINDOWS/SYSTEM32

open it with notepad and at the end of the file add these 2 cmd`s

Files=80
buffers=80

then save and close......

PS : are you using VDMSound 2.0.4 ? with launchpad and the blood shortcut ?

( if so forgive me 4 the dumb question )
