Blood VGAFIX to play in any resolution

Post by evilcaleb » Sun Nov 27, 2005 9:07 pm

Blood 1 VGAFIX

If you have problems with higher resolutions then 640x480, download this fix. (it works for WinXP, WinXP SP1, WinXP SP2 and Win2000 SP3)

http://www.nomissoft.com/files/winxpfix.zip

Extract the file and run the "winxpfix.exe", it will ask you to do some changes type yes then enter (you can undo the changes by running the file again). You have to reboot your windows.

I did all the things from the BuildXP tutorial also and at last i opened the "blood.cfg" and set my favorite resolution. (i tried to change the resolution in the options>video modes as blood was running, but that didnt worked for me)
Search for this lines in your "blood.cfg":

ScreenMode = 1
ScreenWidth = 1024
ScreenHeight = 768

Have fun
Blood rocks!

Problem with operating system?

Post by Guest » Mon Nov 28, 2005 4:47 am

Not working for me, this is what it tells me to do "Press any key to continue"
So I press a random key and then it just closes. It didn't give me any steps or anything. What did I do wrong? My operating system is Windows XP SP2.

Doubleclick the winxpfix.exe, then this box should be appear.

type exactly yes and press enter (not only y or any other key), then it will ask you to reboot windows, type only y and press enter key again.

Thats all, i don't know when it doesn't work for you. Sorry bro.

Not compatible with Plasma Pack?

Post by Guest » Wed Nov 30, 2005 6:26 am

Part of the problem may be that I'm using Plasma pack. Which Blood version are you using? I'm guessing this fix only works for regular Blood.

I have tested this fix with the One Unit Whole Blood Version 1.21. I will install my other Blood Version and the Plasma Pak Addon and let you know if it works.

No probs, higher resolutions works fine with my other Blood Version. Maybe we have different windows xp versions. I m running "Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600".

What graphiccard do you have? Read the forum threat bellow, maybe this this fix works only for Nvidia cards.

and another intresting threat about this fix.

I have an Nvidia Card and this is what happens when I run it in my Blood directory:
VGAFix Version 1.00 for Windows XP
<C> 2003 by NOMISSOFT GmbH
This utility fixes the "Sleeping Monitor" problem in VGA.SYS preventing
several graphics boards from commanding proper monitor timing

Currently supported VGA.SYS Versions:
Windows 2000 SP3, Windows XP, WIndows XP SP1, Windows XP SP2

Bummer.All i did was download the file to desktop,open up the zip file and double click.Might be Windows is stopping you altering the system files...it shouldn`t matter what version of Blood you have,as far as i know.Sounds stupid but try running it from your desktop.... :? i am running an Nvidia card.
